mode40 makes software for running an operation, from Steinbach, Manitoba. The Singularity is one platform that pulls an operation's data into a single working model, with AI on top of it that knows how the place actually runs. Our customers are manufacturers, food and beverage producers and aerospace suppliers. One of them runs 19 facilities on a single installation.

mode40 was started by people who ran plants and spent years working around software built by people who never had. The product is built on that, and it is what we hire for.

Location and how we work

This role is based in our Steinbach office. mode40 is remote-first, with an office in Steinbach for the people who want one. Everyone here has access to everyone from day one: if you need the CEO, you talk to the CEO rather than waiting for a meeting invite.

What you will do

  • Scope engagements: what the platform will do, in what order, and what it will return
  • Design the architecture for a deployment and stay accountable for it through go-live
  • Sit with plant leadership and translate between the floor and the platform
  • Feed what you learn back into the product rather than solving it once and moving on

What we are looking for

  • You have designed and delivered systems inside a real operation, not just diagrammed them
  • Comfortable being the technical authority in a room with a customer's executives
  • You can say no to a request and explain why in a way that builds trust
  • Manufacturing, food and beverage or aerospace background strongly preferred

We are a small team and the list is short and real, rather than a page of things nobody uses.

  • mode40 days: earned Fridays through July and August, plus a stretch at the end of December
  • $1,000 a year for whatever makes your setup work properly
  • Remote-first, with an office in Steinbach if you want it

  • No annual reviews. Feedback happens continuously, in both directions
